Frequently Asked Questions
Are all of your events free entry?
No, VISF has several events that have a cover or registration charge. The Taste and Paint called Sabor y Pintura with Chef Ralph Motta is $65.00 for each single person and $100.00 for a couple. Same price is for Painting with Eliana B Artistry. If you register for both you get $10 off from your total price and you don’t have to pay the general admission cover charge of $20.00 when doors open at 9pm on Friday, June 3rd, 2022 & 8pm on Saturday, June 4th, 2022.
Is the Virgin Islands Salsa Festival year-round?
VISF happens once a year. If you miss it this year, you’ll have to catch it next year!
What classes are free?
The only class offered for free is the Salsa 4 Kids which will be held on Saturday, June 4th, 2022 at Beeston Hill Health & Wellness Center from 9am – 11am. This class is open to ages 9-17.
What classes are offered on Saturday?
There is a Bachata & Kizomba class offered for ages 17 & up on Saturday, June 4th, 2022 at Beeston Hill Health & Wellness Center taught by Lisa O’neill Thomas & Michael Byola and Salsa on 1 with Alexander Emanuel at Karma “the Event Place” located above the Galloways Building in Sunny Isle. Each class is $20.00 with a one-time registration fee of $5.00 that covers all classes. You do not have to pay for a registration fee for each class that you take. Does the VIP tables include Sabor Y Pintura and the classes?
No VIP tables are a separate cost from all the other events and classes. Each VIP table is $150.00 that limits 4 people to each table. Each table will receive their own Mutiny Island Vodka Bottle with a signature drink recipe that all VIP guests can mix at their own tables with all condiments provided. All guests will also receive lite bites prepared by Chef Ralph Motta. Each member will also receive their own VIP Kit that includes special keepsakes and your own VIP access badge.
Will there be a performance?
Yes, Lisa O’neill-Thomas and Michael Byola will dance Kizomba on Saturday, June 4th, 2022. We also have sounds powered by Unlimited Sounds and special guest DJ and one of the best in the business. DJ Velcro from Puerto Rico.
How old do you have to be to participate in the events?
Salsa 4 Kids start from age 8-17. The Bachata & Kizomba class start at age 17 & up. Salsa on 1 at Karma is 18 and up. You must be 18 years of age in order to enter Karma “The Event Place” This will be strictly enforced.
Will there be food when I arrive?
Food will be sold at Karma and food truck vendors will also be outside the premise for your enjoyment.
Will there be seating?
Seating will be minimal but guaranteed seating will be available for all VIP Tables. Limited tables for both Friday & Saturday.
Are your events indoors or outdoors?
All of our events are indoors. Sabor Y Pintura (Taste & Paint) and Salsa on 1 will be at Karma “The Event Place” while Salsa 4 Kids, Bachata & Kizomba will be held at Beeston Hill Health & Wellness Center.
Why do I have to purchase a ticket for either night?
Space is limited at Karma so we don’t want to pack the event space where no one can enjoy themselves because there are too many patrons.
